Dedicated Faculty
NHI brings together a world class group of faculty grounded in a rich history of solid teaching principles, and state of the art knowledge of massage therapy techniques & modalities. A powerhouse of experience, this exemplary staff brings to our students decades of hands-on clinical, business, and educational expertise.
NHI’s instructors employ solid adult learning techniques that focus on matching the student’s learning style needs with care and support. Our curriculum provides our students with comprehensive, immediately applicable knowledge and practical skills. This powerful combination ensures our students’ success in building their careers as employees in the fast growing massage therapy industry, or as self-employed practitioners.
Our instructors are not only great teachers and massage therapists, but also great people. They are tri-athletes, musicians, world travelers and engineers. We have profiled a few of them below to give you a glimpse into why we at NHI are so proud of them.

Jim O’Hara
Jim brings to his role as Instructor 30 enthusiastic years of training students, as well as a dedicated commitment to enhancing the adult educational process in massage therapy. His Masters in Education degree (Stanford University) aptly supports his role as NHI's Curriculum Coordinator. His work in massage has focused recently on "energy" styles, from Acupressure to Polarity. In addition to his training in the United States, Jim’s years of living and teaching in Asia have helped him understand and communicate both the bodywork practices and philosophical approaches found throughout that part of the world. Jim is nationally certified and specializes in Shiatsu and Eastern Modalities.
Klayna M. Snider
Spiritual devotion with great passion complements Klayna’s work as a Massage Therapist and Teacher at NHI. She truly LOVES her profession and considers it a great privilege to share her 14 years of experience as a Massage Therapist as well as her life's journeys and lessons with students. She brings a sense of balance and integration to the classroom, setting a tone of deep reverence for the work and for each other, as well as the practical application of bodywork techniques and theory.
Klayna specializes in Deep Tissue, Deep Swedish, Energy Crystal therapy, Advanced rehabilitative bodywork, and Reiki, and is one of NHI’s premier Student Mentors. The students cherish and respect her; in 2002 they recognized her with a Certificate for Outstanding Mentorship.
Leisha Anders
Leisha, a nationally certified massage therapist specializing in Anatomy and Chi Nei Tsang, possesses the perfect blend of artistry and science. Her past experience with personal training and athletics lead her to the bodywork profession, where she developed a desire to share her enthusiasm and commitment to massage therapy instruction. Her passion for the spiritual / physical connection motivates her to share that dynamic with everyone she comes into contact with. She is a treasure to the National Holistic Institute.
